EU rules to cover gas originating abroad

MEMBERS of the European Parliament have voted overwhelmingly to extend gas market regulations to cover pipelines that will deliver gas to the European Union but originate outside the EU, writes Vladimir Afanasiev. The amendment to the existing EU Gas Directive was approved late last week with 465 votes in its favour, 95 against and 68 abstentions.
