Santos toasts success with Corvus-2 well

AUSTRALIAN operator Santos has had fresh exploration success with its Corvus-2 appraisal well off Western Australia, which the operator reckons has intersected one of the largest hydrocarbon columns ever on the North West Shelf. Santos confirmed this week that the probe in WA-45-R reached a total depth of 3998 metres and intersected a gross interval of 638 metres. As of Tuesday this week, wireline logs had confirmed 245 metres of net hydrocarbon pay across target reservoirs in the North Rankin and Mungaroo formations.
