Kosmos lines up drilling campaign in second half

KOSMOS Energy has lined up a six-well drilling campaign for this year, with the majority of probes set for deep-water acreage in the US Gulf of Mexico. The US independent is set to spud four wildcats across two areas in the US Gulf as well as one exploration well each off Equatorial Guinea and Mauritania, with all six due in the second half. The first well this year will target the Resolution prospect in the Garden Banks area of the US Gulf, where the Dallas-based player this week revealed it and UK super-major BP have struck a deal to evaluate 18 jointly owned leases, with an opportunity to earn an interest in three other tracts.
