Seabed coring in the ice-covered waters of the Arctic Ocean for the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program

The expedition has broken new ground in Arctic research and has demonstrated that drilling in Arctic ice can be achieved with good planning, a well-chosen fleet and a team of suitably experienced personnel. It is to be hoped that more targets can now be cored in order to improve our knowledge of the environmentally critical Arctic Ocean.
