This book contains a wealth of information for those of us who are interested in exploring wrecks from the comfort of our armchairs, or those whose profession - divers, salvors, marine archaeologists and 'treasure' hunters - involves the location and exploration of wrecks. The book, in its 224 pages, provides a both a detailed guide and a succinct gazetteer to 300 of what the author claims are newly located wrecks, which span 2000 years of maritime history in the 'Northern Seas'. Nick Pickford has chosen 15 of the 300 wrecks to describe through the use of well constructed 'case studies.' These case studies make up three quarters of the book contents, with the gazetteer making up the remaining quarter.
