Applying the threat matrix to investigate reliability and maintainability requirements of offshore renewable energy devices

The present paper applies the threat matrix, developed for the integrity management of offshore oil and gas systems, to address reliability and maintainability requirements for a typical wave or tidal energy device. It includes some comparisons with oil and gas subsea infrastructure. The aim is to ensure a realistic assessment of life cycle maintenance requirements and life cycle costs.
