Two Kowloon Peninsula road contracts awarded

Contracts for the Central Kowloon Route (CKR) and Trunk Road T2 have been awarded to Bouygues Construction. These projects form part of a new trunk road known as Route 6. When completed, Route 6 will provide an east-west link in the region with three lanes in both directions. The first contract concerns CKR and is for the construction of a 2.8km section of twin-tube tunnel, two access tunnels and a ventilation shaft. The works, which are worth USD 403M, have already begun and the project commissioning is expected in 2025.
