More changes for bus door safety

Equipment suppliers have recommended further changes to the technical specifications for bus door safety systems. Although the requirements only currently apply in New South Wales, operators and equipment suppliers alike view the issue as a potential national concern. A Bus Industry Confederation (BIC) technical forum in Canberra on February 25 resolved that many of the proposed measures in Technical Specification 146 are not practical and go way beyond the European standard.
