Development and Future Prospects of Steel Products for Automobiles

摘要

To meet the request of environment and safety, various kinds of high-strength steel have been developed for automotive body, drive system and suspension parts. Environmentaly conscious steel such as heat resistant stainless steel for the exhaust manifold and lead-free sheet for the fuel tank have also been developed. In the future, requirements in consideration of environment and safety are though to increase more and more, so the development of materials which meet the change of structure and that of process method of automobiles will be necessary.
