摘要

The tribology of conventional wheel on rail system is a very important fundamental research subject, which is very specific to railway. It also has great influence on the running stability of vehicle and the maintenance cost. Since such an interesting phenomenon have various influential factors, it hasn't been clarified enough even after studies more than a half century. This paper describes the structure of Twin-Disc Rolling Contact Testing Machine which was constructed to study the tribological phenomena between wheel and rail syntheti- cally, and someexperimental results of adhesion under some water lubricated conditions.
