This report reviews some International Standards concerned about passengers' accessibility to railway systems. These are important to provide the best assistance in meeting the needs of railway passengers with reduced mobil- ity such as aged and disabled. Two major topics are distinguished. One is the removal of information barriers for Blind, deaf and aged persons. Another is the removal of physical barriers such as steps and gaps in station and Railway vehicles. It is necessary not only for wheel-chair users and aged persons, but also for people with tempo- rary restrictions such as pregnant, injured and stroller users.
