Performance and durability have been improved on Dana's SPL (Spicer Life Series) heavy-duty 17,000 Nm universal joints - with the SPl-170 now featuring larger needle bearings, giving increased capacity. There is also a Viton synthetic seal, for improved grease retention and serviceability, as well as a thermoplastic seal guard to exclude contaminants. Dana says a new premium synthetic lubricant completes the picture, improving bearing life through the initial three-year or 350,000-mile lubrication interval.
