Fraikin keeps the FORS for Encon Insulation

Encon Insulation has renewed its contract with Fraikin to supply and maintain FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) compliant vehicles for its nationwide distribution fleet. Under the seven-year, full-service deal, Fraikin is delivering 36 new DAF vehicles - 26 CF 26-tonners, nine 32-tonne CFs, and a 7.5-tonne LF, all fitted with automated transmissions and aftermarket extras to bring the vehicles up to FORS. Introduced by TfL (Transport for London) in 2008, FORS - which is aimed at improving operators' safety, fuel efficiency and vehicle carbon footprint - is increasingly a contractor requirement. So the new vehicles have been fitted with proximity sensors, cameras and Fresnel lenses - with plans to retrofit similar equipment on Encon-leased vehicles.
