When most people in the road transport industry hear Ratcliff, they think tail lifts. But before David Agg joined the company, the road transport industry had never really entered his mind. Originally from Hayling Island in Hampshire, with a mechanical bent and his head in the skies, David decided to pursue a career in aerospace engineering. Whilst at school, David spoke to a careers advisor who suggested he try the local technical college instead of pursuing A-levels. "So I went along and it just felt right." At Highbury Technical College in Portsmouth he studied an OND in technology with an electrical bias. After college, David gained sponsorship with Westland Helicopters in Yeovil as an undergraduate technologist apprentice. They sponsored David through his first engineering degree and he left Kingston University with a BSc in Aerospace Engineering.
