Low-drag trucks and hybrid buses among low-carbon projects winning government grants

Government grants totalling £23 million have been awarded to 16 "low-carbon vehicle" research-and-development projects, the full cost of which is put at £52 million. The recipients are winners of a competition started last September as part of the "low-carbon vehicles innovation platform" scheme managed by the government's Technology Strategy Board. The scheme is designed to accelerate introduction of low-carbon vehicles in the UK by encouraging businesses to make the most of the latest technology.
