Asian security issues: what Europe could tell Asia

Asian security issues are atypical and very complex due to the heritage of last century's events, but also because of the dimension and magnitude of the developments investing in and focusing on the continent in the last decades. Could Europe tell Asia anything useful and internationally viable for the crucial tensions and problems affecting some of its regions and countries?1 To these questions many experts would answer that Europe is not such a global player as to have an important role in Asian foreign policy and affairs. This is a wrong perception because Europe is not so weak or distant or reluctant in the face of the main challenges coming from Asia. Incidentally, Europe and Asia have a long border together, starting from the Mediterranean Sea and passing through Eurasia.
