DVD REVIEW

Roger Greenwood of Efftech has a reputation for producing high quality DVDs, particularly of historical Australian tramway systems. Therefore, I was quite excited when I learnt that he had just released a DVD about the trams that ran through the streets of Geelong,Victoria's second largest city,from 1912 to 1956. I have viewed unpublished footage on a number of former non-MMTB Victorian systems, namely the State Electricity Commission's trams in Ballarat and Bendigo and the Victorian Railways' street railways that operated from St Kilda and Sandringham station. However, I did not know of the existence of any footage from Geelong but, on viewing this new DVD, I was certainly not disappointed. I have had sentimental memories of Geelong's trams since a holiday there as a young boy in 1954 or 55. This DVD brought back even more memories than those that had always been in my conscious mind.
