When I saw the cover of the June issue of Transit Australia and looked inside I could hardly believe my eyes.The Brisbane City Council has decided to wrap a whole series of buses in blue plastic so that they resemble prison vans. Worse than this, the Council has condemned thousands of its passengers to watching the passing scene through screens of plastic mesh. Brisbane is an attractive city, but much less so when viewed through bus windows which convert the city to a moving coarse-grained newspaper photograph.
