The Government announced on 21 May that the myki ticketing system will be retained but with some changes. Since March discussions have been held with NTT Data, the Japanese parent company of the myki contractor Kamco. The 21 May announcement enables final negotiations for the revised contract to proceed with the local subsidiary. A third party certifier will be appointed to oversee the remaining build phase to ensure the system fully meets the systems requirements.
