LOCAL BUS TO QUIRINDI

Some towns in rural Australia have remarkably good local bus services in terms of frequency if not exactly in affordable. A classic example is Quirindi, located south west of Tamworth in NSW. Quirindi is a town of some 3,000 people and the shire centre for the Liverpool Plains Shire Council and yet it boasts a local town loop bus service as well as four or five runs a day to Tamworth via Werris Creek. Tamworth Bus Lines operates the service, which is designated Route 428. Some services are nominated as school runs with these ferrying pupils north for schools in Tamworth as well as some from Werris Creek to Quirindi. Traffic flows both ways on this run.
