South East Queensland TransLink Bus Review

The Queensland Government on 7 March released the outcomes of a major TransLink bus review that was originally intended to be available for comment for a period of two weeks from 11 March. (However, as noted below, this period was subsequently extended.) This was the most significant review of bus services in South East Queensland for decades, with an overall aim of concentrating resources onto high-frequency routes and remove low frequency, poorly patronised routes. There will be more interchanging as part of an attempt to reduce the number of buses entering the Brisbane CBD. The benefit of being able to use data from go card travel is being demonstrated now that over 80% of travel on TransLink services is undertaken using a go card.
