This is a fascinating book, and reading it, a number of things immediately jumped out at the reviewer; the sheer diversity of tram types operated by the various undertakings, the relaxed approach to Health and Safety back then, as trams operated with open sides and open doors, and finally how, in addition to the trams, the images provide glimpses of a way of life which has now very largely vanished.
