A tale of two cities

BrisbaneWhile closing the entire CBD railway network twice in a little over three months might seem excessive, this now seems to be a regular practice. From February to May this year full closure occurred a further four times, with other major closures involved also; only Corinda west to Springfield and Rosewood appear to be waiting for a weekend off:• 3-4 February all northern lines from Bowen Hills north;• 6-7 February from 2130 Park Road to Kuraby affecting Beenleigh and Gold Coast services;• 9-11 February Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines;• 17-18 February all lines through the CBD from Wooloowin (Doomben), Albion (Sunshine Coast and Redcliffe Peninsular), and Bowen Hills (Ferny Grove and Airport) on the northside to Corinda, Yeerongpilly and Murarrie on the southside;•17-18 March all lines between Roma Street and Albion, and the entire Ferny Grove line. All northern trains used the Exhibition line to Roma Street Station. Doomben trains on 17 March ran hourly to Corinda via South Brisbane and on 18 March a service to Corinda ran from Roma Street via South Brisbane. Redcliffe trains ran express to Albion and then all stations. Services were reduced on the northern and western lines;• 19-20 March all lines Northgate to Petrie from 2130;• 24-25 March all lines north from Bowen Hills, except Airport and Doomben;• 27- 28 March all lines after 2215 between Albion/Bowen Hills and Park Road and Milton.
