In The Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake Disaster, brittle fractures with plastic strain were observed in beam-column connections of steel building frames. It is considered that the mechanical properties of weld metal, especially the ductility, affected the fractures. In Report I, we described monotonic loading test results using cruciform butt specimens welded By three types of welding consumable. We examined the effect of mechanical properties of weld Metal on fractures under monotonic loading. And in Report II, we described test results to Examine the effect of cyclic loading like the earthquake.
