Wind tunnel experiments were conducted to study the concentration fluctuation within a tracer gas plume considering the relation between plume spreads in the atmosphere. Tracer gas was released from a continuous elevated point source located in a simulated atmospheric boundary layer, and the concentration fluctuation was measured using fast--response flame ionization detectors. The mean square values of concentration fluctuation and the dissipation rate of concentration fluctuation showed a Gaussian in the same way as mean concentration, and the ratio of root mean square values of concentration fluatuation to mean values showed the same profiles at various windward distances from the release point of the tracer gas. These profiles indicate the similarity of concentration fluctuation within the plume.
