摘要

A considerable amount of parametric data was generated to aid in the design of concrete mausoleums for storing old SGs. These data include both skyshine and direct gamma dose rate estimates as a function of ten mausoleum and SG variables. Together with a specially developed application methodology, the parametric data can be used to estimate wall and roof thicknesses for new mausoleums having external dose rate requirements. This work should help the facility design engineer to better estimate actual wall and roof thicknesses needed to protect plant personnel and the public from the radiological hazard posed by old SGs, and at the same time minimize construction costs for mausoleum shielding.
