This study presented an innovative fast-spectrum test reactor borrowing from the CANDU pressure-tube reactor. Based on our neutronic evaluation of the concept, a peak fast flux of > 10~(15) n/cm~2s was achieved. We significantly modified the CANDU concept by altering the fuel type, assembly size, power density, reflector material and coolant. After the writing of this summary an initial thermal hydraulic evaluation of several potential coolants has been completed. It concluded that a reasonable thermal-hydraulic design appears more achievable with helium than it is with steam. This will be the subject of a future publication. To further validate this concept functionality more investigation is needed in the areas of coupled neutronic/thermal hydraulic and safety aspects.
