Teaching Experience on PTS Analysis for Safety Analysis of Nuclear Power Plants

Since 2003, the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign (UIUC) and the University of Pisa (UNIPI) developed an undergraduate and graduate exchange program: "Summer Course Exchange Program" (SCEP). Every spring about 15 students from UIUC go to Pisa and in fall about the same number of students from UNIPI go to Urbana. Both groups attend a class on Energy systems and a language class of the hosting country. They visit industrial shops, power plants and research laboratories as well as main towns, cultural attractions (i.e., museums, concerts, etc.) and meet the local authorities of the hosting country. With the time, the program included also the exchange of professors and researchers.
