The United States Support Program: 35 Years of Safeguards Enhancements

In the past 35 years the USSP has provided hundreds of millions of dollars to improve the IAEA's capability to implement international safeguards by providing equipment, technology, and leading experts in the field of safeguards to the IAEA. This funding, technology, and expertise have been critical for the Agency to successfully carry out their safeguards mission. In fact majority of equipment in use by the IAEA today was developed under the USSP. The US will continue to work diligently to provide the IAEA with the best possible support in the field of international safeguards in order to satisfy the Agency's current and future needs.
