ZionSolutions Dry Cask Storage Project / Supporting Fuel Transfer

The ZionSolutions dry fuel transfer project is well underway with 22 fuel casks on the ISFSI pad and 39 fuel casks more to go. At the current loading rate, fuel transfer should be completed early in the 1st Quarter of 2015. Loading of the Unit 2 GTCC casks is planned for this summer and the Unit 1 GTCC casks for this fall. While this summary focuses on the role of fuel engineering in support of the fuel loading process, it is the combined effort and expertise of Fuel Transfer Operations, Fuel Engineering, Licensing - and all the supporting groups on site - Operations, Radiation Protection, Security that share in the successful loading to date.
