Numerical Simulation and Experimental Study on Natural Vibration Characteristics of Heat Exchanger in a LMFBR Intermediate Heat Exchanger

The intermediate heat exchanger (IHX) is the heat transfer boundary of the liquid metal fast-breeder reactor (LMFBR) primary sodium and secondary sodium.~1 The medium on the primary side of the IHX is radioactive liquid sodium from the reactor core, while the secondary side is non-radioactive liquid sodium. When there is a leakage in the IHX, the secondary side sodium with a higher working pressure will flow into the primary side to prevent radioactive substances from entering the secondary circuit. Therefore, the IXH also assumes the safety function.
