Factors Affecting Drying Conditions of Coatings Sprayed on Permanent Molds

摘要

A heat transfer model is presented, which describes the physica situation at the surface of a mold during coating applications After experimental validation, the model is used to correlate the parameters affecting the drying kinetics of the water-based ceramic suspension. The results provide quantified guidelines about the relation that should be maintained between mold temperature, dilution of slurry and coating thickness.
