Reading Co. history lives on

The organization where Reading Co. official car No. 15 now calls home, the Reading Company Technical & Historical Society [pages 44-47], opened its first permanent home, the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum, in the former Pennsylvania Steel foundry complex in Hamburg, Pa., in 2008 and plans a $25 million museum there. From 1984 to 1988, the group's growing collection of rolling stock, artifacts, and documents were housed at the railroad shops in Reading, Pa., and after that at the Reading & Northern's Leesport (Pa.) Yard, where some cars remain.
