Bangladesh has come a long way since its independence in 1971. The country was left with countless challenges following the Liberation War. But over the years, with exceptional economic growth and its rise to becoming an emerging market, Bangladesh has gradually blossomed. Figures from the World Bank reflect this. Bangladesh's economy has grown at almost 6% per year over the past decade. Its real GDP growth is forecasted to reach 6.7% in 2016 and 2017. Meanwhile, more than 15 million people in the country have moved out of poverty since 1992.
