The 2.8 km extension stretching from the City West stop on North Terrace to the Entertainment Centre on Port Road was announced in the 2008 State Budget as part of a wider vision to expand Adelaide's light rail network from 'Coast to Coast' from Glenelg through the City and on to Port Adelaide, West Lakes and Semaphore.rnAfter an intensive 10-month construction program, Adelaide's $100m tramway extension to the Entertainment Centre at suburban Bowden north-west of the CBD started full public operations in late March.
