摘要

Recently, the size of ECU (Electronic Control Unit) systems has been increasing more and more to meet emission regulations and safety requirements, and to integrate intelligent systems. As the nucleus of automotive control systems, ECU systems are becoming more important year by year. The micro-processor memory sizes are also increasing, because of improving in semiconductor integration technology. It is now possible to integrate automotive control systems on a single chip microprocessor. As a result, the ECU control program sizes are also increasing and becoming more complicated, making design verification and validation using conventional methods difficult. Generally, introduction of higher languages and Real-Time OS effectively improves development efficiency. Actually, the C-language has improved the ECU control program development efficiency in several systems. So we have started introducing the Real-Time OS to improve the reuse, maintainability and quality of ECU control programs. This report describes the efficiency of the Real-Time OS applied to ECU control programs.
