Prius body line-establishment of low volume production line and technologies

Toyota's body production lines are classified into two types. One type is the large scale line, represented by the highly automated FBL (Flexible Body Line).The other is the small scale CKD(Complete Knock Down)line in which most operations are manual and there are low levels of automation. In the past, the Body Assembly Engineering Division has mainly been responsible for managing large volume production lines, including large scale overseas lines.
