Conference Report: Planning: practice, pedagogy, and place. the 56th annual Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP) conference, Portland, Oregon, USA, 3-6 November 2016

The Toulan School of Urban Studies and Planning at Portland State University (PSU) and the Department of Planning, Public Policy, and Management at the University of Oregon (UO) served as the local hosts for the 2016 Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP) annual conference. The conference of co-chairs Lisa Bates (PSU), Marisa Zapata (PSU) and Richard Margerum (UO) worked together to convene the largest conference in ACSP's history, which included submissions for individual papers, panel sessions and poster exhibits. During the event's opening ceremony, local hosts shared some of the latest ACSP news, including the organisation's new branding strategy and logo and improved mechanisms for the APA, and introduced incoming president Weiping Wu of Columbia University, who distributed various student awards for excellence.
