Cultural Heritage and Tourism in the Developing World:a Regional Perspective

This recent addition to the series 'Contemporary geographies of leisure, tourism and mobility' strives to provide a global backdrop to the examination of cultural heritage and tourism in the less developed world. Following a familiar two section layout, the first four chapters written by Timothy and Nyaupane, are dedicated to introducing the broad concepts, issues and theories that are of most significance when considering cultural heritage and tourism in general, but have heightened significance in the regions of the world considered as 'less developed'. These principles then regularly reappear throughout the second section of the book, which is a sequence of nine individually authored chapters placing the concepts in all the geographical regions that make up the 'developing world'. A short summarising chapter by the editors, concludes the volume.
