SBB Class 502 introduction in 2018

The Class RABDe 502 new double-deck EMUs being built for Intercity and InterRegio services by Bombardier, and known as Twindexx by the builder, will at last enter revenue service progressively during 2018. Switzerland's federal transport office (BAV) has only granted a temporary authorisation to the trains, however. The trains have missed another target date - the 10 December 2017 timetable change - and are running over four years late. Bombardier has even been obliged to build three extra trains and offer free spares as compensation for earlier delays.
