Europorte makes profit

None of the freight train operators in France is making much money - Euro Cargo Rail has had to be restructured by DB because of its losses - but Europorte France (EPF) was proud to announce its first profit in 2017, after breaking even in 2016, which was a very difficult year due to a dreadful cereal harvest and a month-long SNCF strike. EPF registered a slight increase (1.72%) in turnover in 2017. The profit was €300 000. Punctuality, one of EPF's biggest achievements, was 95%. The good result was mainly thanks to an increase of 28% in productivity during 2017. Also during 2017, Bourgogne Fret Service, a joint venture formed by EPF (67%) and cereals cooperative Cerevia (33%) was absorbed by EPF itself.
