JTI: Seeking Deeper Roots

In the November 2009 issue, we traced the growth of Japan Tobacco. An impressive 200% increase in the sales of its Japan Tobacco International (JTI) division over a ten-year period has accelerated it to third place in the industry's global league table (excluding China). Recent acquisitions in the leaf supply chain mark a new and different step towards fulfillment of its leadership ambitions.
