A Rare Occurrence: An Anti-Smoking Agency Admits The Economic Truth

The Framework Convention on Tobacco Control—whom no regular reader of Tobacco International need to be told is the agency of the World Health Organization responsible for restricting the use of tobacco—recently published the results of a survey developed in tobacco-growing regions in Zimbabwe. Among other things it reported the place tobacco plays in the lives of the people of those areas. The report differs in radical ways from past such documents from FCTC, said Antonio Abrunhosa, Chief Executive of the International Tobacco Growers' Association.
