摘要

Gordon broom was reading a harry potter novel five years ago when he first noticed signs that his memory was slipping. "I'd always been an avid reader, but it started becoming harder for me to remember what I'd read from one paragraph to the next," recalls Broom, who turned 60 this year. His symptoms eventually affected his job as well. A licensed practical nurse and a social worker for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for 21 years, Broom had to resort to an elaborate system of color-coded Post-it notes to keep his clients and the details of his job straight.
