We have different walls at Threads-and I don't mean east, west, north, and south. They share distinct categories of information. We have a mood wall, where we assemble fabric swatches, inspiration pictures, color palettes, and notes. This collage captures the mood of an issue. It is much easier to collaborate at this wall than over a filing cabinet. Then there is the cover wall, showcasing every cover back to no. 146 (Dec. 2009/Jan. 2010). We frequently check past covers to reference garments, color schemes, and headline treatments. It's a look at our magazine's evolution. It hardly seems possible that I have been on staff for 41 of those covers.
