Introduction In this study, the process of phase transition that occurs at the interface during the injection of liquid droplets into a vapor medium is considered, as applied to operational analysis of sprinkler systems that inject droplets into a vapor under conditions of an abnormal pressure increase. The process is considered using the cellular model, i.e., for a "sample" droplet surrounded by a spherical cell [1]. Non-steady-state growth and evaporation of droplets in a gas medium were discussed in [2]. The evaporation of a single droplet of a liquefied gas that is located at the center of a vapor bubble is considered in [3]. The objective of this study is to derive an analytical relationship for the rate of pressure drop during the injection of cold droplets into a vapor due to vapor condensation on droplets.
