The French Fashion Institute Moves To Bigger Premises

The first public conference organized by the French Fashion Institute (IFM) in January was a clear success : over 150 people turned up to listen to Didier Grumbach 1 discuss ?two centuries of fashion as seen through the history of designers and brands ?. In fact, this first conference inaugurated the first in a series of nine to take place until 8 July 2009. This is just one of the new attractions of ? Docks en Seine ?, taken from the name of the building to which the IFM moved last December, previously owned by the Paris Port Authority. The building itself is owned by the French organization Caisse des depots et consignations which leases it out to a number of tenants including the IFM (2 300 m~2 over three levels). The remainder of the building (4 500 m~2) is leased out to event organizers from the worlds of fashion and design as well as a good selection of stores, restaurants and services.
