After having welcomed some 14,000 visitors, the Futurotextiel 08 exhibition held in Courtrai closed its doors for the last time. This exhibition was not just aimed at technology specialists but was also, to a certain extent, an event to present the textiles of file near future in a manner accessible to all, often made even more enjoyable by original artistic events, hi general, technological development and artistic creation are polar opposites, the former rooted in the earth, and the latter rising into the skies, hi this case, however, the participating artists used contemporary technologies to give us their own vision of the textile's world of tomorrow, encouraging us to imagine as if in a science-fiction movie. We were met by "Silenus" from the Canadian artist Max Streicher, who has specialized in inflatable structures since 1991.
