Another year and session has begun and this time as you are all aware it is the 'big one'. I am extremely honoured to be Branch Chairman in the Institution's Centenary year, not least because it is the same year that I celebrate my half-centenary, (although sometimes it seems longer). More importantly I believe that this session is very special as we have Sarah Buck as our President, the first woman President for this - and probably any - engineering science based institution.
