Poor Australian crop unsettles macadamia market

A prolonged period of high prices could damage macadamia nut demand in Europe, according to trade reports. Although South Africa had a good crop, top supplier Australia saw a downturn and has withdrawn from the market and what offers have been available lately are believed to be mainly from resellers. As in many other nut markets, the suppliers are hoping that emerging demand from China can take up any slack in off-take from more traditional markets.
